Exquisite drinks in a unique venue located in the heart of Warrington’s Cultural Quarter

Institution is Warrington’s game-changing drink and food experience. Serving excellent food and bar snacks until evening, the intimate cocktail room opens its doors and mixologists create pure magic with a huge range of classic and signature cocktails. High ceilings and vault-like rooms are clues to the history of the Treasury Building on Palmyra Square, which had been the home of both a technical college and council treasury vault before the bar opened its doors in June 2014. It is the latter of these that lends Institution a small part of its unique character. The original safety vault is now an intimate cocktail den still accessed via the original two-ton steel door and the bar’s name pays homage to the two institutions once housed there. The rest of Institution’s character is the result of great food, authentic cocktails and a laid-back atmosphere that provides the perfect antidote to the hustle and bustle of Bridge Street.
